Description

I attempted this target (part of NGC 7000 - North American Nebula, see my wide angle mosiac: https://www.astrobin.com/expxq5/D/) at F/8, 1622mm with my RC8 on the prior evening - the Bortle 6 skies were not cooperating: >1arcsec guiding and higher than desired HFR #s  - the air was soaked with moisture. The next night was dry, warmer, and the transparency and seeing were much better. That said, I decided to put my 0.67 focal reducer to work and imaged at F/5, 1000mm which doubled the signal and also improved the overall image composition - showing more of the interesting surrounding clouds and dust.

Pixinsight processing notes: I am now using ABE in place of DBE and building Mosaics using PhotometricMosaic after adjusting the background levels using DNALinearFit. I then do channel combining in the final linear stage before stretching on an individual channel basis - this is providing superior results so I am reprocessing many of my images and re-posting them.
